With its upgraded navigation and floor coverage, the iRobot Roomba 580 vacuuming robot senses amazing amounts of dirt and debris with the simple touch of a button. The powerful unit boasts advanced spinning side brushes that collect dirt and dust from corners and along wall edges, as well as high-speed, counter-rotating brushes that pick up pet hair, cat litter, food crumbs, and other debris from floors.

Its new cleaning system and coverage patterns allow iRobot Roomba 580 to pick up the debris and transfers it into a large, easy-to-empty, bagless dust bin. Its enhanced filtration system traps dust, pollen, and other allergens inside the vacuum. For extra convenience, the vacuum’s cleaning head will change according to floor type without your intervention. Its new anti-tangle technology prevents the robotic vacuum cleaner from getting tangled on cords and rug fringe. If the unit senses a cord or carpet tassel, it will reverse the direction of its brushes to extract the item.

Roomba 580 will slows down upon detection of the obstacles along its path. This is what its gentle-touch bumper system used for. It gently touches the obstacle, then redirects to continue cleaning under or around the object. Since it cleans under beds, couches, and other hard-to-reach areas, it cleans the floor better than a standard upright. If the area is very dirty, it will take more time on cleaning that area. It can avoid avoid stairs and other drop-offs with the help of its built-in cliff sensors. You can also block certain areas for cleaning by using the vacuum’s Virtual Wall system.

If you want to designate off-limit areas, put a Virtual Wall at a doorway or other opening. Make sure that the infrared beam is not too far from the the entrance or opening. When iRobot detects the beam, it will not enter into the area. You can program the unit to clean your home on certain days. It also comes with a wireless command center, making it easy for you to control, steer, and schedule the Roomba 580 remotely. When the battery level is low, iRobot will return to its self-charging Home Base.

iRobot Roomba 580 Vacuuming Robot has a quick-charging battery. A full charge of 3 hours will enable the unit to function for 120 minutes of continuous cleaning. On a single charge, iRobot can cover about three to four average-size rooms.

When you buy Roomba 580, you will receive two Virtual Wall lighthouses, each requiring two C batteries (not included), a brush cleaning tool, one replacement beater brush, and one replacement filter. The dimension of the vacuum is 16-3/4 by 21 by 5 inches. It carries a one-year limited warranty.
